<>西江，是苗族的名称“鸡讲”汉译而来的。西江是苗族聚居、人烟稠密的千户苗族大寨，有一千名户，5300多人，8个自然村连成二片。西江位于雷山县城北面，离县城37千米，四周群山环抱，层峦叠嶂，一条小溪从雷公坪流来，穿寨而过。房前屋后为丛丛翠竹和红枫掩映。幢幢吊脚木楼依山而建，层层梯田顺着山势紧连云天。
    西江苗寨的房屋均是杉木结构，依山傍水，次第升高相连。有平房、楼房、半边吊脚楼房等式样，用青瓦或杉木皮盖顶。基脚用青石块、鹅卵石垒砌。木楼最大的五间，一般为三间搭一厢阁，均是三层楼。第一层存放农具，关养牲畜、储肥；第三层存放谷子或其他农作物；第二层住人，设有堂屋、灶房、卧房、客房。堂屋中央摆着一张木制花边长桌，为迎客宴席之用。堂屋前为曲形木条栏杆，供夏天乘凉和休息。木楼前左右板壁上雕刻有各种花鸟图案，门窗用小木条装成花边图案。房屋具独特的民族风格，既美观大方，又舒适清爽。房前屋后的不远处，建有晾禾架和谷仓。房与房之间的路用青石铺砌连通，并有排水沟；有的人家房前屋后还用小鹅卵石砌铺。
    苗族服饰鲜艳夺目，花色品种多。女青年节日盛装，头戴银乾、银梳，别簪银角，包银围布片，戴耳环，项挂三至四只花纽式银项圈；还有的着古式盛装，穿大花便衣(衣角、衣肩、衣袖都钉上各式银花片)，黑绉裙，外系24条花带和大花围腰；手戴三四只锒手镯，全身打扮得银光闪闪。除了绚丽的苗族服饰，苗族妇女还自幼绣花。有绉绣、平绣、叠绣和贴绣，尤以绉绣驰名；绉绣是用8股、10股或12股花线织成各色花带，然后绣上花、草、虫、鱼、鸟、兽等图案，钉在衣领、衣袖、衣角、背带上，富于立体感。西江的银饰制作工艺十分精湛，驰名省内外。
    其实说来，西江最大的特色就是“大”，中国苗族人口聚居最大的村寨。而当你真正走进西江，会发现，她最迷人的地方却是“真”。这个“真”，一方面是来源于西江原汁原味的苗族风情。这些风情体现在苗族妇女当当作响的银饰上，体现在她们高亢优美的歌声里，小伙子们吹响的芦笙里，还有西江那些保存原始的苗族生活习惯、礼庆仪式上；“真”还体现在西江所能给你的那种自然和纯真的感觉里。或许是因为群山环绕，或者苗族人口众多，西江就这么在贵州一隅，成为一方世外桃园。你可以选择在西江山脚的梯田里、小河边，或者石桥上、水车旁静静感受田园的秀丽和大自然的伟大，也可以走到山上的苗族人家里，随意轻轻推开一扇陈旧的木门，一个原生态的苗族生活画卷都会展现在你面前，又或者，你只是顺着石板慢慢向上前进，只是观察，一个个惊喜都会在拐角出现；而在我看来，最大的“真”是来源于内心。包括我在内的很多人到过西江后都会爱上这，都说不上为什么，就是挪不动步。等回到了城市，才知道，西江的安静、淳朴和自然真的就能让人抛开烦恼，远离世事。当你走进西江那一刻，城市里的喧哗就被隔离了。</P>

<>－－－在肇兴呆了一天，第二天徒步厦格。在去的路上遇到一对夫妇顺便在他们那定了2点钟的餐饭，回来时我们沿着弯曲的农田小路而下，踏过蓝天白云，绿草地，呼吸着农田里散发的清新气息。这时……</P>
<>     “哇！好多鱼啊！”忽而有人喊叫起来，我往左低头一看，果真！一群的鱼儿在集满水的农田中跳跃，欢得很呢！不知道哪个贪吃的家伙起了邪念，嚷道“捉鱼啊”“又有一道美味菜肴了！……”，站在此处的我们，口水早已融入田中了，每个人的脖子伸得老长，眼珠子瞪的贼大，老马开始发话了“脱”！跃跃欲试的小姜开了头，脱鞋又脱袜，忙得不亦乐乎，嘴巴都咧到了耳根，还好控制得住没兴奋得脱个光！这不踏着泥水向目标前进。可别说鱼还真多，小姜已经开始了他的“搜刮”行动，站在岸上的保安终于按奈不住开始狂脱，之后“嗵”的一声，奔进田里，于是“自摸二人组”正式成立，开始了“胡摸”历程！</P>

    小姜行动倒蛮利索的，左摸，右摸，就逮住了五六条，保安则游窜似的跨度太大最后只逮了一条。不知道什么时候，鱼头的后备工作早已做好，在对面摊着塑料袋装鱼。最会瞎指挥的就属老马了“这边这边”“那边那边”“草丛比较多”……大家的笑声，喝声，占据了整个天空！    </P>
<>      老马，MIKE,教练，鱼头和我带着战利品嘻嘻哈哈的下了山，保安小姜冰儿跟随在后。正高兴的当时，对讲机响了起来，“喂喂喂……，有个老头追上来了，来找鱼的，快跑快跑！”大家都呆了，不是野生的吗？晕！刚才的叫喊声也的确太大了引来了这一章回。这时我们一急，加快了脚步，突一转身看，真有个老头“咚咚咚”的朝这赶来，我们更急了，转身立即赶路，大约过了2分钟，对讲机又传来了声音“老头还有50米就追上了……”，吓的MIKE直把鱼往老马手里塞，看来是跑不掉了，老头也真是执著跑了这么远，于是大家决定给他算钱！这时老头已追到跟前，上气不接下气，一口方言的像是在埋怨，我们也不停得向他道歉，真的不知这是有人放养的！算了算居然有8条鱼，老头开价80元，那可真是太贵了啊，好说歹说50元终于成交！真有趣，不知不觉八仙过海成了八个小贼！真是美其名曰“混水摸鱼”。这一遭，大家都还是挺开心的，毕竟是自己摸的鱼嘛！呵呵！（那鱼后来烤了吃，但吃起来真不是咋的，满肚子的鱼仔子，鱼肉舔舔就没了呐！）<img src="attachments/dvbbs/2007-4/200743015351739.jpg" border="0" onclick="zoom(this)" onload="if(this.width>document.body.clientWidth*0.5) {this.resized=true;this.width=document.body.clientWidth*0.5;this.style.cursor='pointer';} else {this.onclick=null}" alt="" />
